Friends
This weekend my friends are coming up to visit me at SRU. Both of them live at home and commute to Cleveland State. I am trying to get them to transfer here. I plan on taking them to a couple of activities going on this weekend. I will show them around campus and point out different buildings where they may have to take classes in, plus showing them the buildings where I take classes. I am defiantly going to take them to the arc to show them a great what a great workout place SRU has. And their SRU weekend would not be complete without going to the dinning halls. I will take them to the Flu and Rockies. Overall this weekend will be. Hopefully I can get them to transfer to SRU.

Fitness Ed
For this semester, I am in the class Fitness Ed. with Dr. Nichols. I really enjoy this class. Right now, we are learning between Fitnessgram and the Presidential Award for testing students on their physical fitness. I think Dr. Nichols makes the class fun by not lecturing the whole the time. He goes over the main points in a chapter, then lets us experience what we are learning. The other day in groups we had to teach the class one Fitnessgram test and one Presidential Award test. I thought that was a great idea to have us teach it to the class. If you have not taken this class yet, take it with Dr. Nichols and you will learn a lot.

SRU Women's Soccer
Tonight I went to a SRU Women's soccer game. I didn't realize that we have such a good women's soccer team. They were playing IUP and it was great game. It was fun to watch because both teams were evenly match. The game was very competive and exciting to see what was going to happen next. I left with about 10 mintues left, and SRU was winning. I enjoy watching socccer because I used to play.

Exercise and Old Age
I am from the Cleveland area and during down time I go online to read the Plain Dealer. I came across this article that talks about people in thier 80s exercising and extending their lifespan. One result shows that people who were 85 years old or older extended their survival by 3 years by exercising on a regulary basis. This could mean walking up to 15 minutes a day for at least 4 hours weekly. I thought this was interesting, according to the article, 64% of 85 years old were physically active. If you are interested in more of the article, go to http://www.cleveland.com/news/ and click on "Exercise can extend survival even in the 'Oldest old'" to read more.
